"I have always had a passion for education and helping students discover their potential. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and my master’s degree in STEM education from Georgia State University. My first year teaching was 8th grade Science at Sandy Springs Middle School, but I had to step away due to health concerns. Since then, I have been tutoring a variety of subjects, building skills and confidence in students of all ages, and was excited to return to a school that values education in a fresh, student-centered way.

I was born in India but moved to Georgia when I was only one year old, and I’m proud to call it home. Georgia has been where I’ve built my teaching career and also where I’ve been able to pursue one of my favorite passions outside the classroom — leading an English language learning program for refugee students. I began volunteering with the program over four years ago, and it has since grown to serve communities in four other regions across the U.S. This work is especially close to my heart because English is also my second language, and I know firsthand the doors it can open. It’s given me the opportunity to connect with volunteers and support students from diverse backgrounds.

Outside of work, you can usually find me exploring new coffee shops (always in search of the perfect matcha latte), traveling, or spending time at the beach — my happy place. I also love being an aunt and spending time with my two little nephews, who always keep me laughing. My fiancé, Shahzaib, and I have been together since high school, and after more than a decade together, we’re now engaged. We love spending weekends with friends and family, trying new foods, and enjoying the outdoors.

I’m thrilled to be part of William & Reed Academy, where the focus is not only on academics but on developing the whole student. Working here also allows me to continue tutoring, which keeps me connected to students in different settings and allows me to support their growth in a variety of ways.
