MEET THE COUNSELOR

Wendy Williams, M.A.

Director of College Counseling & Independent Educational Consultant

Wendy Williams, an educational consultant, has been assisting students and their families with their educational goals since 1997. As the Director of College Counseling at William & Reed Academy, Wendy works closely with the student body to ensure each student’s understanding of the college admissions process. The mission of William & Reed’s College Counseling Department is to engage students in the college admissions process by creating a nurturing environment in which students and parents can work together towards future academic successes. Wendy's counseling background helps to demystify the admissions process by implementing structure and guidance in a positive environment so that students are able to focus on what really matters – their interests, abilities, school options and career goals.

During each student’s time at William & Reed Academy, Wendy will administer several different interest inventories (Do What You Are, the Learning Styles Inventory and Multiple Intelligences), help each student develop a personalized college list and guide each student through the application process. Additionally, Wendy has developed “Wednesdays with Wendy” – a program that allows upperclassmen at William & Reed Academy to meet and engage admissions officers from numerous colleges and universities.

In addition to the college admissions process, Wendy is responsible for the administration of standardized testing at William & Reed Academy including the PSAT (10th & 11th grade), the Pre-ACT (9th & 10th grade ), the ACT Aspire (6th through 9th grade) and the ACT (11th grade).

Wendy graduated from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and then went on to receive a master's degree in Professional Psychology specializing in Counseling from Argosy University. Wendy began her training over two decades ago and established her own company, Williams Educational Consultants in 2005. Wendy continues to work with students through Williams Educational Consultants in order to advise them on the best educational path by which to reach their academic and career goals.
