My goal as an educator is to be a positive influence in each student's life and have them leave my classroom with a stronger sense of self worth. Students remember relationships and experiences.  It is imperative to design challenging, real world activities that address the needs and interests of my students.  I had the opportunity to live and travel abroad.  These experiences have helped me look at life from a global perspective and help me connect with students from diverse backgrounds. Another experience that took me out of my comfort zone was training for an 1/2 Ironman Triathlon with Team in Training.  I am not a natural athlete, it took grit to train and cross that finish line.

This experience reinforced the importance of encouraging others to have a positive mindset and work as a team to endure challenging obstacles. I'm ecstatic to be at W&R with like minded, accomplished educators!

My hometown is Brunswick, Georgia.  I went to college near Dallas, Texas.  My husband and I have lived in the Atlanta area since 2005.  We have 2 kids, Colton is 12 and McKayla is 15.  Our family enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, and watching movies together.
