“Growing up, education was one of the most important things in my life. My mother had always stressed the importance or working hard and doing the best, while my father was a teacher himself. When I was at Georgia Southern, it became very clear early on that History was my passion and the subject that I wanted to focus on as long as I could. I eagerly would sit at the edge of my chair listening to my professor’s stories and explanations of different parts in history and found it fascinating. That paired with the desire to help students to reach their full potential is what led to me pursuing my passion in education. In the past, it was always my history teachers in high school and college that were my greatest influences. It is my goal now to help my students achieve their goals, like my teachers had helped me.
Another passion of mine is soccer. I began playing the sport when I was 4 years old, and the sport was the center of my family’s life. Both my older brother and sister were passionate about it as well. Some of the most important lessons I learned came from working on the field and with my teammates. I learned the importance of working hard, using teamwork, and to always leave your heart on the field. Recently, I have begun to coaching soccer and plan to get my license as soon as I can.
I am very excited to be teaching at William & Reed Academy and appreciate the values that this school was built on. I have never seen such a supporting group of people that only want the success for those around them, and feel lucky to be apart of the family.”
